Undo centre bolt on top of filter(s), bowl should pull off. Take it off and give it a good clean out. Replace rubber sealing rings top and bottom and small ring on centre spindle. Fix it back on and open bleed screw on top of filter. Pump hand lever on lift pump (or crank engine on starter) till diesel clear of bubbles comes out of hole. Tighten screw. Try and run it. If you're lucky that might be all you need to do although pump might also need bled. (see below) (this assumes its cartridge type filters rather than the "element inside a metal cannister" type although procedure is just the same for these except that sealing washer arrangements are different.) You may have a secondary and primary filter, in which case just do both and bleed them in turn, doing the one fed direct from fuel tank (primary one) first. If it starts and conks out after a short time you will also need to bleed the pump. To do that open two bleed screws on side of pump a bit and crank engine till bubble free fuel comes out. (I think you're supposed to do top one first then bottom one but it doesn't seem to matter much in my experience) Tighten them up again. Injectors probably won't need bled but if they do, slacken fuel pipe union to each injector but don't remove it. Crank engine till fuel comes out at each union. Tighten them up again and it should then be ready to start and run. When properly bled it usually will start first kick. An easy check to see if its getting fuel is to see if white smoke comes out of the exhaust when you are cranking it. If not, its not getting fuel.
