I am trying to find out exactly what year my tractor is. It was made in Paris, France or so it says on the tag on the front panel.

The type # is: 1658SNDMY

The Numero De Serie is: 324436

Then it says
Fabrique' en France par Massey Ferguson Paris

Any help is appreciated.

In trying to help an owner identify his French built MF 130 last year I came across information on French built tractors, and I have had the following information authenticated from a contact of mine in France.

165 = Model
8 = Built in France
SNDMY = Configuration of the tractor
S = Standard Chassis
N,D Type of engine?
M = Dual Clutch
Y = Diff lock

Serial number, 324436 was built between 1 Nov. 1965 and 31 Oct. 1966
Last number produced on 31 Oct.1965 was 323032
last number produced on 31 Oct.1966 was 325804

(this was the normal starting dates of serial/year)

As your serial number falls midway between these numbers it would be fare to say it was built in spring 1966.

Were is this tractor? i.e. USA?

Hope this info helps?

Where did you find those #'s? On the engine block or rear axle or the sheet metal somewhere?

How many positions on the pto lever, 2 or 3?

Can you read the quadrant labels, right side of the seat?

Does it have lights? In the fenders or in the grill?

Take down the #'s on the rear axle.

Jeff

The numbers I listed are on the little metal plate on the dash of the tractor.

It has both fender lights and headlights. Muffler is on left side.

PTO positions = 2

Seat has been replaced.

Will have to get numbers off of rear axle later.

Even w/ seat replacement there is either 2 or 3 levers to the right & below the seat. The frame these levers move within is called a quadrant. There should be decals on top of the quadrant(if they're not worn away). See if you can read the decals. If you can, down low on the inner quadrant see if the words "high", "pressure", & "low" can be seen.

All these details will help narrow it down. Your serial # doesn't match any of the lists I've seen, but we can narrow it down if the tractor has any optional equipment.
