I was wondering if there is suppose to be a grease fitting on the pivot point on the front end of my 135? I have not found one and dont see where one was. It seems that there would have to be a way to grease this place. Mine squeaks and dont want to ruin anything that can be prevented. Thanks

I presume your are talking about the front axle pivot pin. These are usually lubed with graphite at assembly. Grease would only get contaminated by dirt and that would change the lubrication into a lapping comp[ound that would make the joint wear even faster,

BB,

The bushings and pin there are hardened; there never was a grease fitting there. Mowr"s suggestion is good I think and I also don"t think grease would do very well. Hope this helps.

This area is not machined to close tolerances and sealed so I believe any grease there would draw dirt and cause abrasive wear. NAPA sells a Nevr-Seize product I like for this type of application. Comes in a spray can but dries after it's sprayed in where you want it so you have the graphite lubricant without the grease. If you can safely take the weight off the axle first, the product can flow under the pivot pin better.
