MF-165 transmission oil leak

I have a 1973 MF-165 rowcrop diesel with a Westendorf WL-21 loader (2900 hours total), 8 speed transmission, remote hydraulics and independent PTO. I changed the transmission/hydraulic oil 15 hours ago and have noticed a very sloooow but persistant drip from the cotter pin on the bottom of the transmission housing (probably less than 50 cc a year). Is this anything that I should worry about?

I am also about to rebuild the steering valve/cylinder unit (have the rebuild kit in hand). Any hints or warnings?

FYI: I obtained both service and parts manuals from AGCO for the MF-165 for about 25.00/copy within the last year. The I&T manual is ok, but features an earlier version of the 165 than I have.

Does anyone have a line on dealer's brochures and/or posters for the 165? If so, I'd be interested in obtaining them.

Thanks.

Does the cylinder walls show good/nice hone marks??? Did they have them scarfed enough??? They could have broken a ring when installing the pistons too. Did you have them out??? Something else... they might of had the engine to hot sometime and it took the temper out of the rings...

Gerald: I have a MF-150 with the same problem, only the leak is worse. Is the repair identical?
