how can i identify a massey harris model

hellow everone ,hope someone can help me , my father has this tractor and i would like to get it running for him but the only thing that identify on it is the words massey harris , it is a tricycle with a continental 4 cyl motor there are some casting numbers on it, dont know what to look for , one of the numbers on the left side rail says 2-28-48 , could that be the date , hope someone can help,

If it has a channel steel frame rail (like I think you said) from that era, I'm guessing a model 20 or 22 Massey Harris (4-cylinder Continental flathead engine).

Look on the top of the tansmission case to the left of the PTO lever .It should be stamped there.Is the serial number plate gone there in front of the tool box?

I found a tag on the left side of the housing right under the battery the tag has some numbers , they are , 30-GR-3317, does this mean any thing to any one .
