The yellow tractor I inherited with MF-20 stencled all over it did not fit any manuals. The Serial number is 9A186683 which according to this site makes it a 1974 (MF 135/MF 150/MF 165/MF 175/MF 180). Could anyone help me find which of the above it is? I restore IH and JD, but this is a working tractor. It's not pretty, but it moves soil.

Continuing thanks for all the support in researching the "yellow machine". Although I received one email suggesting it was a MF 20 Industrial, a quick look at the Serial Number section of the Research & Info section of this website would indicate that MF never made such a machine. The Industrials were MF 202 / 203 /204's. As MF appears to have never produce a MF 20, the stenciling on the sheet metal of the yellow machine seems to be in error, or for that matter the sheet metal could be wrong, which would give a false serial number, thereto attached.

As an assumption, I plan to believe the sheet metal and serial number are correct, which would make it a 1974 100 series tractor. If this is a correct assumption, I will have to find out if all 100 series tractors were made in 74, and which one has similar components to the yellow machine.

Charles the serial numbers are the same on all of the USA built 100 series tractors from the MF135 up to and including the MF180. Each year has it's on range of numbers for all of the tractors built in that year after 1967. These same numbers were used on the industrial tractors MF20 through the MF50. It does not help at all with what model numbers your tractor is.
