Our gun club just bought a MF 165. It is a great tractor but the heat and fumes from the verticle muffler are a little much. It doesn't appear that you can turn the muffler to face forward . Is there anything you can do to help the problem?

Two things come to mind -

Running it back under the footrest is O.K. It"s a particularly good setup for mowing around trees, so your muffler doesn"t get knocked off. But it also makes your right foot awfully hot.

If you want to keep the vertical muffler, try extending it upwards or pionting the exhaust off to the right.

Any decent exhaust shop should be able to help out with modifications.

Could look at putting it back in the origional configuration of running the exhaust down and back under the right foot plate.

this is the way MF 65's run it. Just get the stuff that bolts onto the exhaust manifold & route it like a 65.

easy way to start a fire if back fires. heat rises and your foot and leg gets very hot also the fumes rises. stay vertical and shield towards operator with pc. of split well casing and brakets
