Hi all.

so, to put this filter in i have to undo the bolts where the PTO selector is, but then hoe does the changer come away from what ever its connected to?

And then how does the filter attatch to the pump? I was imagining it as more of a flat gauze, but what i have is a cylinder with lots of holes in it. Is this the right part?

Sorry for being a bit thick! (im preety new to tractors and am only 16!)

Thanks in advance

Ben

The bottom end of the PTO shift rod is forked and rides in a groove on the gear. You have to get it back in that groove when you put it back.

There are two caps on the hydraulic filter. The top one is mostly closed, with just a small hole for the wing bolt. The bottom has a rubber gasket that sits on the intake of the pump. When you lift out the filter be certain to bring up that bottom cup, else the grunge the filter has collected will be released into the pump input.

The filter can self destruct loosing all the mesh leaving only a perforated cylinder. That means it should have been replaced a few years ago.
