I need to install a remote on a MF245. I ordered a diverter valve that sits in place of the civer cover. The cover has a stand pipe that go's into it and am not sure how to disconect it. Also after I do get the valve in place what would be my next step. The valve had no instalation instructions with it. Thanks.

Remove the blanking cover, sometimes the stack pipe comes out with it, sometimes it doesn"t. Pull it out if not, and change the o-rings - they are pence to change and saves a job later when they fail. Carefuly refit the stack pipe, ensuring that it does go back into the hole in the pump and pushes home - you will be able to feel it when it"s right. Simply fit the diverter valve and bolt up - you may need longer bolts or cap heads depending on the valve"s design - fitting an o-ring to the port underneath. Some diverter valves include a return port, some do not. If yours doesn"t then you"ll need to make a return. Common solutions are a tapped port on one of the centre housing side covers, or a pipe brazed onto the filler cap, the former being better.
