Can I expect to see a change in performance on a Continental Z134 engine if I install electronic ignition? Is it difficult to do? How much are the parts?

You'll get quick starting, smoother idling and running and not have any points to mess with. I doubt that you see any significant increase in horsepower because that's determined by airflow and compression ratio. I have a Pertronix on my TO-30 and I wouldn't go back to a standard ignition system.

Peace of cake to install. I am not a Mr. Goodwrench and I did it in less than 1/2 hr
on a MF 202.

It stopped the missing on mine at idle. If it missed at rpm's also, and this stopped it, then there would be a slight increase due to all firing all the time.

Hi Chuck, I have installed over 60 pertronix ing. systems, have only had problems with one and it was promptly replaced.
Installation is pretty simple, if you can install a set of points and read you can install this unit pretty easily.
Performance...First thing you'll notice is ease of cranking and smoothness on the running. The spark is quite more efficent in burning fuel thus you can lean up your carb. quite a bit.I dyno every engine I build or swap over and you can see a differance provided your related tune up componets are with in specs. I've had the pertronix unit on my to35 a tad over 4 years and it never turns more than twice and its running, every customer that sees and hears my tractor running wants one. Every tractor I work on gets one now , I've made it a built in part of every deal.
I have yet to have one customer not completely satisified. A couple of things to look for is dist. shaft play, the pertronix unit will work with no problems as long as it does not have excessive shaft wear and always replace the coil with the recommended one,and always set the timing. Depending on the application The pertronix unit sells for around $130.00 here a link to thier site

best wishes

Genessee sells one too; may have merged with Pertronix. Last one I bought was $99. Would not be without elect ign. period. Installs in a snap.
