I know very little of Massy Harris. I have come across a 333 that has about 3800 hours on it. The tractor looks like it has half that many hours. Appears to have had a very well maintained life. This tractor looks to me like it was somewhat ahead of its time in terms of operater comfert and features. I would like to add this tractor to my hobby collection. What are your thoughts on the things to look out for and also the good features of this model?

Like the old saying goes,"If you don't want it,I'll take it."You are correct. As a matter of fact the whole Massey Harris line was ahead of its time especially where operator comfort and safety were concerned.Too bad one ego ruined a whole tractor line.
Harris Guy, I had never heard of the Deere merger thing before but it certainly makes sense considering Deere was working on their New Generation at the time.I am sure they recognized their real competion to the New Generation that was to be.Harry did it for them. They no longer needed to merge at that point.

For collection, a row crop(38" rear tires) is a
classic. With 5 color paint scheme, this rates with the 444, as about the most unique tractor to
view, at a collector's show. Rare, since less than 3,000 were built, '56-'57. Why?
Following the MHF merger, in 1953, Harry Ferguson
verbally trashed MH, baiting the public with the-wait until my new designed line of equipment is
available. The MH division had limited R&D budget to add independent PTO to Triples, or any
changes to the dated 55. Sales slipped, Deere
attempted to merge in early '56, all veered out
of control, as Harris Heirs sold their stock. By
May '57, MH phaseout was announced. Harry's toys
were introduced, to disappointment. Nothing bad about a 333, unless you needed major
repair parts-about nothing available,except used.
Prices can run from fifteen hundred, to several
grand, for this tractor, in row crop. Should you not want this red, post back, better to place with a restorer, than parted out, by a jockey.

Thank-you Harris Guy,
This row crop tractor definately belongs in a collection. The chrome on the front of the hood is flawless. I was impressed with the glides on the battery case. I love shiney things but this tractor should probably be cleaned and kept in it's present form. What options where popular or available for this tractor?

Most common options, were over ride clutch lever,
on right side, to offer live PTO to implements,
this was packaged with double disc brakes. Wide
front tubular adjustable axle, cast rear wheel center discs, factory PS,Hitch-All 3 point, etc.
If it's what you stated, I hope you bought this 'keeper', yesterday. Good luck.
