I have been offered a MF35 (mid-60s).It has been completely rebuilt. They want £2000 for it-is that about right? I want it to WORK HARD on my farm, not to look at! How easy will it be to get spares/tyres etc for it? Can you still get loading arms/other fixtures for them? Any comments from people still using a 35 to work very welcome.

I've had mine for 25 years with 1 overhaul, with the price for 8 or 9N going from $1200.00 to as much as $5000.00 and people paying the price . $2000.00 sounds good, I've had both gas and diesel MF35 with 2 stage clutch and power steering and they have served me well, and would recommened them to any one. They have not been babyed, and always done their work. Allan/CA

As long as it is a 3 cylinder that"s a very keen price for a rebuilt 35. I restored one to coucours for a customer last year, he"s been offered nearly twice that money (but won"t sell it). It depends on the level to which it has been rebuilt, but even rough ex farm 35"s have been making £1000 at farm sales for the past 10 years.

If it"s a 4 cylinder, which if you"ve dated it correctly it shouldn"t be, be wary as they are hard to start from cold, especially in the winter, although they do work just as well when going. Price is still OK for a 4 cyl.

Spares are still easily available from VAP, Bepco etc, or at a price from MF dealers. Tyres are not a problem. If you are going to work it make sure that it is fitted with a ROPS frame, these are now mandatory here even if you"re working for yourself.

$3606.35 (2000 GBP conversion)

Price is right.

Tractor is right.

Parts are available and inexpensive.

I have the Perkins 3-152 diesel and it is one tuggin(g) critter. Can't speak for the rest although I had a TO-20 with the Continental gas (124 cu in I think) which was also a fine tuggin machine.

The MF35 is a great tractor.

Parts are easy to get on our side of the pond - I assume they should be on yours, since hunndreds of thousands of them were built.

I don't know how pounds translate into dollars, so I can't comment on the price.
