I found a 1085 for sale (not sure of the year) It has a 6' loader and he is asking $8500. Is this a good price? What is parts availability on the 1085 like? Is it a good tractor? Generally speaking. Any additional info would be helpful. I currently own a TO20 and want to upgrade.

If it were a 285 in my area (same thing, lower profile) it could bring atleast $10,000 in good condition w/ a loader. Maybe even $12,500/. The 285 we have, no loader, is a great tractor. About 5,950 hrs on the engine w/out ever being opened up. Getting tired, but still runnning strong.

That is quite a jump! 1085's are not sure if they're a big little tractor or a little big tractor. Engine is a Perkins 318 , I have 3 , all are good starters , but plug them in in cold weather. Main downside is hydraulics , fine if they're working but a problem to get at , esp. the cab models. Parts (up here at least) are easily available. Your price is iffy , depends upon condition , is it private or at a dealers. Don't see many with loaders. Take care---Bill
