which pump is the proper one for a 1965 mf 135 with the continal gas engine where the pump mounts on left front of engine? is the reservoir mounted on the back of pump in horizontal position or is the reservoir mounted above pump in vertical position? it looks there are three bolts that hold pump to engine?
any and all ideas appreciated

Looked in the parts book. And in a popular replacement parts catalog.

All the pumps for the Continental engines have the reservoir on the top, and all the pumps for the Perkins engines have the reservoir on the back.

vaalue built shows their one pump for Perkins replaces 3 different part numbers and their one pump for Continental replaces 5 different part numbers.

So it looks like though they used different pumps at different times of production that the pumps interchange or at least there is a replacement that will interchange to all applications at least by engine make.

The parts book shows several different pumps. Some may interchange, though the parts book covers four different engines too. Two sizes of Continental gas, plus Perkins gas and Perkins diesel. But as I recall there are more than three power steering pump possibilities.
