A friend has a 333 Massey narrow front. He has found a 44 Massey wide adjustable front axle. Could this axle be changed to the 333 (bolt in)? Thank you.

it's not just a bolt up. the 333 should have power steering the 44 don't so the 333 steering sector will not work and he sure would not want to loss that. there are many other thing that don't work eather

Though the PS was an option, on 333's, there were
about five mount castings for the steering support, on High-Arch(38" rear wheels) 44 versions. As Marlowe stated, no factory PS offer
or fit, from 44's. You can bolt up a manual steer, but must avoid the early adjustable tube style(1948). This one had the pivot pin protruding, without the cast housing offering any
support. By '49, the near complete re-design was
out, in tubular, good, copied by competitors. Check the support casting numbers, jack up the 44,
WFE's have many wear parts, no available worm or
sector gear. NFE is much less headache, from a
service viewpoint.
