I have a MF135 with a Perkins 3 cylinder diesel engine. How do I determine whether it is a AD3.152 or a 3A.152? Someone is selling these and other engine overhaul manuals on ebay. I want the manual but don't actually know which engine I have.

The MF135 has the AD3-152 engine in it I did have one in the shop one time that someone had installed one of the older A3-152 but it would be very rare to find that.

Hey big dean, how can i look at the engine and tell if its ad3 of a3? My 135s engine was made in august 64, before 135s were bring built here in the UK. The tractor has no serial plate so its difficult to find its age but it seems older than the really early ones. Has the later hydraulics etc, square mudgards etc.

Cheers, it would explain a lot if it does have an older engine in it!

Ben

Ben As far as I know all MF135 diesel engines were the AD3-152. The old A3-152 has three combustion chamber three corner plates on the left side of head & the Injectors set straight up and down. The AD3-152 the Injectors set at a slight angle in the head and they do not have the combustion chamber plates.

There is an engine serial number either right or left side on the block just below the heads. This # on mine (1970 model) is UA 152..... (don't have it here).

I have tried to get a dealer for Perkins to go directly to Perkins to find out the date of manufacture for the engine as I wanted to see whether my engine and chasis are original to each other....no luck getting a response.

Anyone know of another source of this info?
