Upgrading to Screw-on Oil Filter

I recently changed oil for the first time in my MF135 project. Used the original canister system and found a washer and felt washer missing. Read the cautions about ensuring all parts properly fitted to ensure proper operation. I've decided to upgrade to screw-on system.

The head I bought aftermarket did not come with a gasket so I have fashioned one from 1/16" cork gasket material. Is this ok? Also, the tractor has sat several days now without starting, can I replace the head and filter without draining any/all the oil?

Thanks for your advice?

I retrofitted my MF50 with a screw on adapter - real easy. I don't know the part number off hand, but it seems like the part was about $25ish. I should think the 35 and 135 would be the same.

Good luck,
Bill
