power steering hoses

just bought 2 months ago a mf 135 with continential gas engine.was missing power steering pump,bought a used pump,the correct one. now havequestion about hoses.the pump is marked for ''pressure'' and ''return'' ok for pump,now i see two places on steering box area on left side as your sitting on tractor.the fittings are by and above ingition switch pretty much in line front to back.which one for pressure and which one for return? don't show in manual that i have.

I saw an earlier post where you commented the steering shaft is moving vertically about an inch. If your model has the same steering setup as my 202 it should only move about 1/8" or 3/16" total. If all the original parts are still in the tractor then the nut which holds the thrust bearings to the valve spool has come loose but that doesn't make sense either. Email me.

The steering valve has a ball check valve in the return side which can be seen in the port(it has a straight screwdriver slot in it) It is to relieve the oil if the wheel is turned and the engine is not running. Some valves have the ports identifed in the casting above the port. Look for a Port ID cast into the metal of the valve. I have a MF 202 that I have spent alot of time on repairing the power steering
