Is the oil pan OK to use as a jack point on the front of my 135? Seems like nothing else is available given that I want to remove the cast axle housing and pivot shaft and rest of front end for repair, painting, but sure don't want to break anything....

Thanks for the help

I jack them up with the pan for 27 years and so did our Massey Ferguson services reps. I never did any harm to one of them just watch the drain plug that the jack is not hitting it. I usually used a wood block between the jack & the pan.

I agree with Big Dean, as long as you place a big piece of wood between sump and jack, since 1970 with no dramas.

OK,OK,OK, I stand corrected. But make sure you spread the load with a block of wood.

Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year to everyone wherever you are!!!!!

No,No,No,No,No
Hi Bill,
The sump may support the weight but it's an expensive way to find out. If you have a loader or not fitted the safest place is under the clutch housing. Slacken the front wheel nuts first. Put a trolley jack under the axle casting and lift the wheels just clear of the floor. Place suitable support (large wood blocks) under the clutch housing (under the 4 bolts) and lower. Remove the wheels and this will give you full access to the axle. Don't forget that you will have to remove the bonnet and radiator before you can remove the axle casting.
Hope this helps

Thanks a lot for this information!

I guess there is no liklihood of the tractor tipping forward on the support from the position you describe..?... I have the back wheels and fender/supports off for painting.....

I guess it will be obvious if I take it easy.
