What are the main differences between the two. Are they a powerful and reliable tractor? How well would they manage towing a 10 ton load for road work? Any areas of weakness? What would be the going price for either of these?
Thanks
Guys

The 1100 diesel was about 105 engine hp. The 1130 was around 120 engine hp The main difference is that the 1100 engine was the Perkins A.6/354 diesel, whereas the 1130 had a similar engine but fitted with a turbocharger. I do not know about the ones built for the North American market but I believe the UK spec ones ( which werein fact US built)also had differences in the tires (7.50X18 fronts on the 1100 9X16 fronts on the 1130)By the way "tricycle" or narrow front tractors of any make are as rare as rocking horse manure over here!
We had an 1100, yes we liked it but to me it would have been a very good tractor for pulling a big wide drag across the dry and dusty plains of Kansas, i.e. I found it a bit "front heavy" for UK conditions. If the weather turned very wet it was better to leave it in the shed. The engine had plenty of "top end" grunt, but below say 1500 rpm it was a bit sleepy. I can"t really complain though as we bought it new in 1969 for £3500, ran it every year until 1996 when it was sold in our farm sale £7700!

I forgot to mention, another reason why I thought it was a "dry weather tractor" was that it had such a pitifull ground clearance under the drawbar, due to that silly downward facing "lip" on the drawbar frame itself.

we had an 1130 one time..

it was great till it hit 900hrs then hydrallic hoses keep busting-- until we got a 2 wire braid hose made to fit (factory parts were single wire and would blow after about 100hrs ---after the first 900-- pressure checked out ok every time)

Its been 25yrs snce I saw that tractor it was efficiant fuel wise.

If the 20,000# load was rolling..I Know it would.

we have a 1100 with about 11,000 hours (1 owner tractor) on it and a 1130 (2nd owner) with 5700 hours.they get used about every day a they are very good tractors we rarely have problems with them.Sometimes they are more reliable then the newer tractors. they go for about 3,000 to 7,000.
