Have the 35, 35x, TE20 or 135 got a dual clutch. The type that when pushed halfway will dis-engauge the wheels and leave the P.T.O engauged.

Regards.

Most commonly do. Though there were options for other PTO including independent with a single clutch on the pedal and a hydraulic clutch for the PTO.

Read somewhere that that was not a very good system for the independant PTO, and that it was a bit unreliable.

Cant see what people have against the dual stage clutch setup myself, it is very easy to use, not difficult to know where to stop or anything.

For me the dual clutch on my 135 is othervice a good thing, but it is not convinient for snowthrower use, as if you want the snowthrower to stop while passing the house/cars, you also disengage the wheels, i.e. stop moving.

Yes I agree, it's a good system but,..... There's always a but. I have some arthritis in my left knee which I put down to 33 years of pressing a dual stage clutch. Have done some initial research into designing an assisted clutch pedal as a bolt on kit. Anyone else having problems?

Hi there all.

16535! I have a FE35 deluxe which came with a dual stage clutch, the FE35 standard model and TE20 only had a single stage clutch, but the TE20 had a after market supplier that made a reduction gear and hand operated clutch to suit use with a rotary hoe.

Johan! try and move the throttle back and forward quickly and at the same time disengage the pto lever, with the brief decrease in load on the pto and a little practice you should be able to slip the pto out of gear without interruption to the tractors forward motion and without using the clutch at all, however you will still have to use both clutch stages to start running the PTO again.

DavidP! I sympathize with you, try taking shark cartilage (Glucosamine) tablets, they started to work for me after about 4 weeks and I am still taking two a day after several years. To ease the load on my knee, I installed a suspension seat on my FE35, the higher seating position ment that my leg is now straighter when pushing the pedal down and the sprung seat helps prevent aches and pains in the back also.

Cheers Arthur from Tassy
