Massey Ferguson 65 in reply to Big Dean, 01-04-2005 16:45:04
Howdy again Big Dean,
We talked about a year ago re my MF 65... finally got it running. Now the power steering fluid appears to be draining into my crankcase... is this a seal problem or ? Also is this a two stage clutch for the pto... down part way to disengage the transmision and all the way down to disengage both pto and transmission? thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom Well our sooner did not go very far but there is always next year. Your power steering pump seal is leaking sometimes you can replase that seal and it will hold but if the bushings and shaft is worn it may not hold. The Clutch you described is a two stage clutch. It will work like that if it is adjusted right. Hope this helps

Thanks Dean,
How is the clutch on the 65 adjusted? Is there a way to determine if the bushing and shaft are worn other than to replace the seal and see if that stops the leak? It appears the leak is going into the oil pan as the oil level is rising.
Tom
