I am trying to find out which decals were originally placed(included) on the wheatland fenders on the above referenced tractor that my friend has restored. The main set of decals that he has for the tractor did not include these decals. I can get the decals for the fenders but there are three options which are as follows:
1. The letters M-H on each fender.
2. The words Massey Harris on each fender.
3. Or the vertical word Massey on the left fender and the vertical word Harris on the right fender.
Problem is we don't know which decals were the original ones on his particular model?????
Does anyone out there know which ones are the originals or where I may find that information out?? Seems like I've exhausted all my sources,Help!!!!

HEY FRED - WE BETTER GET A PICTURE ! in reply to Fred Penfield, 01-17-2005 10:30:12
Anytime you need help, give a yell. BTW once he gets those decals on, we need a picture of the tractor posted on this site. (Maybe even one from the back for the next guy who's wondering about decals) Glad we could help. Oh, and another thing - the "au" in the web site for that picture means Australia I believe. The site looked like an ag museum down their way.

Hey guys, thanks alot for all the imput. Alan -Thats a great historic picture from the museum archives, I printed it and will take it to New Zealand to show my friends father-in-law. I went ahead and got the decals (#2)Massey-Harris so he can place them on each fender. After talking to the people at Maple-Hunter decals we pretty much concluded that that was the correct decals ( if any) and the museum photo shows just that. I bought a 4wd van a couple of years back in New Zealand and store it at my friends father-in-laws farm, he takes care of it while I am gone. I'll be getting alot of brownie points for bringing him the missing decals this year, so thanks again everyone !!!!!

Fred, found the following pix on the internet.
Link
looks like a 101 JR to me but it does show the decals. Looks like option # 2 is the winner. I did find one other picture of the rear of a 101, but it had been restored & had no decals.

Are you 100% positive that there were decals on the back of those fenders?

Acorrding to my friends father-in-law who restored the tractor, yes there were decals on the back of the tractor prior to the restoration that he did. I was rather insistant about this point when I asked him, as other tractor buffs I talked to had said that they thought that more than likely the decals were not on the original tractor. The tractor is in New Zealand, don't know if that made a difference or not? It also is the super 101 that has the front tires far apart like the rear tires. I know that some super 101's had the front tire close together(like on a tricycle). Don't know if that helps?
On the three decal options I previously mentioned, do you have any insight on which one it may be if any???
Thanks, Fred

Don't remember ever seeing the MH (letters only) on any rear fenders. I have seen the Massey-Harris (horizontal words)on each rear fender on a model 25 Massey, Massey on top then Harris down below. Whether that was original or not I don't remember. Can't say I've seen Massey (vertical) on one and Harris (vertical) on the other. Those were usually on the front of the grille.

Mike.
My Grandfather's 25 had the large MH on the rear lower of the fenders. It was not repainted, was on
iron, stored inside. My uncle sold it to a restorer, after the barn roof caved in. That was a few decades ago, never saw the tractor again, as my uncle misplaced the name and address. Those decal placements can be tedious and more, when suppliers sell the wrong combinations.
