got a chance to buy a 1950 model in apparently decent shape for $2100. seems ok. any advice??

If you buy it make sure that you buy an over-run clutch for the pto. If you are not familiar with them, this is a device that keeps the momentum from your implement (such as a rotary mower) from continuing to push your tractor even though you've turned it off. These are a must have item for your personal safety. Enjoy!

Seems like a fair price. I'm assuming you checked engine oil for water. The continentals have a bad habid of cracking the block internally. Check hydralic oil for water too. some is not to bad but indicates time between changes (ie care). I'm tring to rember what what surprises I had with mine after i bought it, they are very rugged tractors. I hope you do well with yours!
