I would like to know what was the original color for the generator, starter, & light housings for a Pony. I have all sorts of answers from folks here, but I would like for this tractor to be correct when I finish.
Thanks.

What year. The early Pony engines and components were painted black. Later ones were painted red with the rest of the tractor. It's your tractor, paint them what ever color you want

The Pony made it's debut in 1947, the 100th year
anniversary of the MH company, also the one year tractor engines were black. Everyone, including MH took liberties, adding some black. Donaldson
air breathers were left black on some production
runs. VR's were usually black on 30's, light cans,
too. Your 62 C.I. engine may look good with a Gen,
in black, or appear to lack a balance of red, being a small block. You either test, or look at more correct red tractors, for your opinion on the work done by others.
