Removing the lift and draft lever mechanism

Is there any 'danger' in just removing the lift and draft lever mechanism from the housing outward in order to strip, paint and decal them in the shop? I would then 'simply' replace them later after painting the main tractor elements? Are there 'gotchas' in this?

Thanks again!

There is no particular "danger" but you will need to set everything up correctly when you finish, which if you"re taking the lift head off I would do anyway. If you follow the MF workshop manual procedures it is not dificult.

As far as I am aware these parts should not be painted, have them shot peened and zinc plated to get an original finish. I"ve done a few this way and they look really good even several years down the line.

The I&T manual calls out a process for adjustment so they work again after reassembly and thats with the rocker cover off to start with. More after you put the rocker back in place. And that takes three strong backs or a crane.
