My father owns a MF 65. He was cutting with a brushhog and he thinks he hit a tree stump with the brushhog blade. Now the PTO does not spin and the 3-pt hitch does not move up or down. Another note: Regarding the two handles right under the seat; if you are sitting on the seat looking down, the one on the right moves, but the one on the left is frozen and won't move. What are these handles for? Does the tractor have to be running or in gear for the left handle to move? Can anyone offer any insight? Any comments/ideas would be appreciated.

I suspect he broke the center hub out of the pto clutch disc or tore the linings off of it when he hit the stump or what ever he hit It turns both the three point pump and the pto shaft. The valve you have in under the seat is used to operate a remote cylinder. most of those valves the left handle has to be fasten back for the quadrant Draft control and the Position control lever to operate the lift. when left handle is in the center position it is moved to the center it is set for the right handle to operate a remote cylinder. some one may done something to keep it back or it may just be bound up from the lack of uses. If I can be of further help Email me.

Thanks Big Dean! That's a start. Is this a big project or something that a weekender can do? Any help on that end? Do I take it apart near the PTO shaft or from the top (under the seat)? Or do I leave it for a pro? Is anything pressurized here? Thanks Dean.

Remove the plate from the bottom of the transmission bellhousing you can look up in that hole and see the PTO clutch disc and PTO input shaft be absolutely sure both shift levers are in neutral and have someone turn the engine over while you watch to see if the pto input sahft is turning. You need to have the lift levers in the raise position if it is the linning causing the problem.
