I am considering purchasing a 35 in great shape. When I push in clutch with the lift UP(carrying a disk)..the arms go down immediately. Is this a major problem I should run away from?? The man selling me this tractor doesn"t know.

Alan,

While I am in nooooo way an expert on tractors.
I can tell you. I just rebuilt my hydraulic on my MF35. I bought one of the video tape from this site. It was very helpful. I found that disassembly and rebuilding the pump pretty straight forward. I ran into problems adjusting the pump controls. I ended up taking it to the shop just for the control adjustment.

I would offer this advise..if the control levers are working don't mess with them. Just do the pump and reassemble.

Hope this helps.

Joel

It is often the O-rings on the stack pipe, try changing these before you buy it. A few pence for the rings, ten minutes to fit.

That is caused by a leak in the system it is usually in the three point pump and is usually a sign it is time to rebuild the pump. If you can do the labor yourself the parts to completely rebuild it with are less than $200.00 hope this answers your question satisfactorily

Went to look at tractor today. Tractor had a Boom on the 3 point; when I attepted to pick up the boom....the lift slightly shuddered at the "up-stoke" and continued to do so..as the tractor idled. Perhaps this is something that isn't an emergency right now??,as I can lift a 6 ft. disc & tractor will hold until I cut off the engine; then it drops.
Can I damage the hydro system worse? Is this a major problem w/ the tractor?
You told me about getting a kit, but after reading some of these postings on this site,I don't know if I could do it..sorta scared to..heard some "horror stories"?? What do you think?
