I have a mf 202 loader bachoe. My problem is that one of the stabilizers wont come down. I was wondering if anyone knew what the wear bars are made of, can they take heating, solvents, hits from a BFH. Any help would be great.

What model backhoe is it? The 202 is the tractor, the loader and hoe have their own model numbers. I have a 220 hoe on my MF202. The stabilizers come straight down from either end of the hoe frame. The wear bars on mine are aluminum. The service manual suggests digging a small hole and backing up so you can disconnect the hoses, pull the pin and drop the stabilizer cylinder right out of the frame. Hope this helps.

Karl I tried to send an email but I'm not sure if it went. I would like to get a service manual for my MF220 but my dealer can't find a listing for one. He said if he had a MF number for one he could probably get it. Could you please post the number from your service manual.
Thanks,
Gary

Could the problem be in the control valve?

No the valves work. The pins are wore enough that the cylinder does move and will stop the engine if you hold the valve open.

Joe if you could figure out which one of the hoses was the return line you could disconnect it to determine if there was pressure going to both sides of the cylinder.(could get a little messy be careful)

Cylinders work fine. I took a cut off wheel and cut from the bottom up on one corner through the thickest part. I hit the lever and it came out the bottom. I cleaned off the wear bars gouged out my cut and welded it back up and everything works fine now. Thanks for all the ideas
