135 diesel fuel pump

The fuel pump on the side of my new to me 135 3 cyl. Perkins has a cap on the front.Do I check a fluid level in there? What type fluid goes in there at what level?I don"t see anything in it.Thank-you for any replies.

do you mean that little rectangular cap held in place by two little screws? (just below the arrow marked 3) If so dont touch it! The injector pump is lubricated by the fuel itself.

Hi,this pump is on a 3 cyl. Perkins,it doesn't look like the one in the picture.Mine does have a fill cap on the front but I have no clue.I'm going to get a manual for it but I just thought someone would know and then I can use it.I don't want to screw anything up already.Thank-you.

Ah! do you mean that cap as indicated by the arrow? if so that is where the engine oil goes in. Be careful to fill it slowly, its a really stupid little filler, if you try and rush it it comes back at you!

I think you are looking at the oil fill port for the engine oil.
