I am considering purchasing a 180 D, but have some questions. The seller says it"s a 12 speed with live PTO. Does this tractor have multi-power? Does it have wet brakes? The seller isn"t sure. I have the serial number if that would help. I have a 165 D that has a 2 stage clutch, 6 speed trans., no multi and dry brakes. I"m trying to buy something with more power, better brakes, plus sit higher for better sight when working. Any help is appreciated.

The 180D is a nice tractor. Ours has an independent pto(hydraulic pump). I have seen in a manual that the 180 could also have the LPTO(2 stage clutch) like the smaller tractors.

They work hard with little problems. Also the platform is nice. Not straddling hot metal in the summer heat like the 135, 165, etc.

The 180 is a very nice step from a 165. That's what we did a few years ago. Our 180 has the multi power. The clutch is single stage because the pto is engaged hydraulically. The engine is rated at 62-65 HP compared to 52 HP on the 165 and it does make a big difference. Also the wheel diameter on the 180 is bigger wich makes a huge difference in traction. Lastly on a 180, your siting on a platform much higher than the other.

That tractor does have Multipower if it is a 12 speed. It is the same multipower transmission as the ones used in the smaller tractors. It probably does not have wet brakes only the very last few MF100 series tractors built had wet brakes very few of them that did have.
