Hey y'all,
I have a friend that has a 165 MF with a loader and it has 16.9 x 30 inch tires and he says that he has 15 x 30 inch wheels. The wheels have rotted out and he wants to replace them. He is having trouble finding these rims. (He actually found some for $550 each) Do you know if this is the size that would have come on this tractor? I don't understand why he is having such a hard time finding the rim if this is what came on the 165. Does anyone have a source for these rims? I told him that we might have to find a donor rim and get out the welder.

I have a set of 30" poweradjust rims I was going to use on my 180. I no longer have that tractor so I would let these go cheap. Bolt pattern is 8 x 8 There are 18.4 mounted on them but the tires are shot. I don"t know where you are from but I am in Michigan.

According to my equipment guide, 14.9-28 was supposed to be the most common size tire. I used to have a 165 and it did have the 14.9-28's. I thought that tire size looked about right for that tractor. I know that have seen several 165's with row crop 15.5-38 tires, but I can't say that I've seen very many with 16.9-30's. If you have an owners manual, they will generally list all the tire sizes that were available from the dealer when the tractor was new.

Most 165 standards had 28" wheels, but the very late ones were on 30". I expect this tractor has square axle housings and possibly the 8 speed transmission. Other models had 30" wheels so rims should be available.

My MF 165 has 18.4-26" tires, so there are a number of different sizes used on that tractor.
