I have a 71 MF 165 dsl (53 hp Perkins)(3,042 hours) tractor which I have cleaned up, painted, repaired the lights. The tractor runs great. I use it for bushhogging, blading & misc stuff. I have been looking for a tractor with a Front End Loader (FEL), I found a 2001 MF 271 dsl (60 hp) (300 hours)with a woods front loader with low hours. Does anyone have any comments on the MF 271 (Pro's & Con's) ??

I have a friend who is purchasing a small farm and is interested in my MF 165 for bushhogging and maintenance around his new place. If I sell it to him I can get the 271. The only conflict is I really do not need a larger tractor, I could get away with a smaller one, but I can get a better deal on the larger HP tractors. Anyone have comments?????

does the 165 have power steering?

If yes, buy an old loader, and fit it straight on there, by far the cheapest option, and a 165 makes a nice loader tractor! Personal opinion - you dont want a new tractor, all plastic and electronics an **it! And they get expensive to do anything to.
