I have a 1966 MF175 Diesel that is tired but has been working good. Just the other day while brushogging in light grass I lost 3 pt and PTO at the same time. Multipower has not worked for awhile. Remotes are unknown at this point if they work or not, but were getting "weak".

So does this mean that the hydraulic pump is finally done? Any other quick checks that I should do before, I plan the big job of splitting?

Help??

take the inspection plate off under the front of gearbox and see if there are any sheared rivets from second stage clutch, that would give the same results as loosing drive to both pump and pto at same time, if so tractor has to be split at clutch to repair. cheers.

The 3pt and the PTO,(if independent PTO) work off of differant pumps and doesn't use a 2 stage clutch. If you have regular PTO, they all work off of the same part of the 2nd stage of the clutch, which drives a shaft through the trans to the main hydraulic pump and multi-power pump. If you lose the 2nd stage of your clutch you would lose all of these at the same time. Check with Big Dean's website, has a procedure for adjusting the clutch if it's not too far gone.
