Do you mean the PTO dropping out or the linkage arms dropping? I'm assuming the latter. It sounds like you've got a leak somewhere in the hydraulic system, possibly the O-rings on the stack pipe or the main lift cylinder is leaking. Do you have a diverter valve fitted at the top of the stackpipe (RH side front of seat on lift cover)? If not get one. The pump is disconnected when you disengage the PTO stage of the clutch, so this may tie in with the clutch pedal being pressed and the arms dropping. Follow Big Dean's advice and move the pedal pin to 'non PTO' position and you may have a good enough fix.

The MF165 clutch arm where the link from the pedal connects should have 2 pin hole the lower pin hole is used when you do not need the PTO to release. The top hole is for when you need the PTO clutch to release. It only takes a couple of minutes to change the pin from one hole to the other. That would help but the system is leaking someplace if the lift is dropping when you release the PTO clutch. If I can be of further help email me.
