I'm about to reassemble my MF135 Perkins Gas.
When reinstalling a water pump and thermostat, how do you install the gaskets....
Gasket sealer?
Little grease?
Dry?
Silicone?
Other?

Also, my thermostat didn't come with directions,...I think it was installed with the spring side (most protruding side) down....can someone reassure me?

Thanks...

I'm pretty sur ethe spring goes down. I have a spray can of Permatex gasket sealer, it's red and looks kinda like spray paint, got it at automotive Supply. It has directions on the can how to use it. Otherwise if the gasket will stay put, just put it on dry. The gasket sealer is nice to hold gaskets on a vertical surface(water pump), as it gets tacky then you put the gasket on it.
