I am looking at the parts manual for my To 35 and I see an "O" ring and I see an oil seal. Do I need to replace both of these to stop a fluid leak around the PTO shaft? Thanks for any help.

The oring seals the bearing carrier (the thing with 4 bolts) to the tractor housing. The oil seal seals the shaft where it rotates.

Be sure and pay attention to the location of the bearing, snap ring (on the shaft) and sleeve.....that the seal rides against. If they aren't locked snugly together and have the ability for the bearing to move back and forth, the PTO could become erratic or slip out of gear.....if it is like Ford. I don't have my MF manual next to me but as I recall they are identical back there. The difference is that MF puts the hyd pump on the other end (front) of a shorter PTO shaft....as I recall.
