Perhaps Don will correct me if I am wrong. They are virtually the same tractor except the 175 has bit more ponies with a slightly bigger Perkins diesel. Good points: Tremendous fuel economy and I mean the best you are going to find on planet earth per horsepower. Excellent cold weather starter. Excellent 3 point hitch. Bad points: Poor hydraulic system low output and slow hydraulics. Almost need to have an aftermarket pump if you are going to put a loader on it and have a decent rig. Also, most of them have a two stage clutch and have "live PTO", but not independent PTO. This means you can only step down part of the way on the clutch if you still want hydraulics and PTO. It is hard to get used to if you have other tractors with independent PTO. If it will be your only tractor, you will get used to it after a while.

These models were available with IPTO as optional equipment.

Power wise, the 175 is much better. The rest of the tractor is similar to the 165. For the seat, it all depends what you plan on doing with the tractor, for small quick chores, it is good, if you plan on sitting extended hours, watch it`s condition, otherwise, a new seat is a wise investment.

We've got a 165, its a great chore/loader tractor. The seat isn't too bad if it's in decent shape(has good cushions). They are just a very good tractor in my opinion, and the 165 has plenty of power for most of what we do with it. We've got bigger tractors for the other jobs.
