Although I have been reading the forums for a while I am just now starting to post... because I am starting to do some work on my 135. Hope I don't burn you guys out!
I need to do a tune-up, valve adjust, starter rebuild, rewire, add a 1-wire alt, etc. on my Perkins gas and I figured I would get the hood out of the way. I was doing good till I got to the lower front screws. I don't see any way to access them... other than laying on my back with a 36" extention and 2 universals. There has to be a better way...

back end comes off with 4 bolts, remove battery if you need more room to get at bolts

way down low in front, 2 big bolts hold front in place, holes should be slotted so just back the bolts off

remember to unbolt the hood holder-upper up on top of the gas tank

if you have front grill guard, hood will probably bind unless you remove it

hood then comes off in one big piece, 2 man job unless you eat your wheaties
