Any suggestions would be appreciated.
My dad has an old Massey Harris that he has been using on his woodlot for the last few years. It started to throw a little oil out the exhaust the last couple of years. This year it started to throw a lot and then just stopped running. He only runs it maybe 15 or 20 hours a year.He thinks it is a late 1940's model. It has a flathead continental engine in it,with the number F400A418M stamped on it,4 cylinder.Any idea's as to how to go about finding out the problem the least expensive way would be appreciated. Thanks

Just a thought, my 1150 started doing the same thing. A friend suggested that I put it on his big tillivator and run it as hard as possible for an hour. It cleared right up and has run great ever since. He claimed it was common for a diesel that had not been worked hard to started (slobbering, as he put it)
