I have a little MH 20 here that does not have the small v-belt pulley assembly that this line of tractors had. I think the 81,82 and 22 used the same set up. Anyways, I know where there is one that I can pick up however I am wondering how these engage and disengage? I don't want one if it is running all the time. Also, the meshing gears between the driveline gear and the pulley assembly gear has me wondering .... where do those meshing gears get their lubrication from?

The flat belt pulley on my Colt runs all the time. There is a cover you put over the pulley flange once you remove the pulley. There is 80w90 in the housing that the belt pulley bolts to in my Colt.
