Hi....
Getting down to details now.
Got her (1970 MF135 Perkins Gas)running and pretty and am getting ready to reinstall and wire the lights.

I have a wiring diagram and think I'm OK there.
I have tried all three lights and 2 work fine. One is shorted out big time.

My problem?...I don't know how to take the blasted things apart. The rubber ring around the lens has a tab at one location with a small hole in the housing, but putting a ice pick doesn't seem to be productive. There are no screws or other such.

Help please. I have no idea if these are original to the tractor, but they appear to be the same shape as the ones in my parts manual. The one that is shorted has a toggle switch at the very back on the 'point' of the housing.

Thanks for your help... I don't want to break anything.

That hole is a drain hole for the housing. The light and rubber ring just pops into the housing. If it is real tight you might try some liquid detergent around the housing and work it into the rubber edge so it will slip out better. You kind of pry it out the rubber ring and light at the same time. The switch is probley on the rear one for the flashing red light. On some (Mind has it)the sealed beam has a section of red on the back of it and a bulb inside the housing with a flasher. When you flip the switch one way the back up light works and the other way the back up light goes out and the bulb behind the red section blinks as a warning red light or turn signal. The bulb is clear the red comes from the sealed beam. Mark H.

 Thanks Willy-N! in reply to Willy-N, 11-25-2005 16:59:58
Thanks for the advice.
My tractor has 3 sealed beams..one facing the rear as you said. It also has two amber flashers.

Have a great holiday season.
