Zenith Carburetor question - solenoid?

I have a 1970 MF135 Perkins Gas, Deluxe.

My parts manual shows a solenoid on the Zenith carburetor..... My carburetor seems to be that Zenith model.

It has a 'solenoid' off the lower front portion of the carburetor..... the parts manual shows a short wire with a female spade electrical connector.... My solenoid has no wire....

And moreover, my parts manual does not show (on any electrical diagram that I can see) where such a wire is supposed to be connected....

What's it for? Where does the wire connect?

Thanks for the help....

Hi Bill That solenoid is to keep the engine from dieseling when you shut it off it has a pin that is spring loaded that when the switch is turned of it goes into the power jet and stop fuel from getting through the jet. If your tractor is not dieseling when you shut it off you can get by without it.

Hi Big Dean, Hope your family holidays are safe, healthy and happy.

OK...mine is NOT dieseling, but am I wrong in thinking this is a 'powered' option? It looks like a wire leading from it in the parts manual.

Also, if the tractor seems to run rich even with the fuel pinched down quite a bit...does that signal a float problem?
