My tractor stuck in 1st gear when put it into park. It has evidently bent something with the parking mechanism because if you park on an incline, you cannot get it out of park unless you use another tractor to take the pressure off of it. Has anyone else had a problem like this and what does it take to fix it?

My Uncle has an 1150, and has had the same problems you mentioned.

Rather than tearing it down to fix the parking pawl, he has a mico brake put on the left brake. Works well, and doesn't get stuck like the park gear does.

A properly installed micro lock is a satifactory solution, but it has limitations. Anyone unfamiliar with that tractor is likely to omit releasing the brake and you can quickly trash the brake and contaminate the transmission-hydraulic-rear end oil quickly. A friend thought he was going to do me a favor and shag a wagon load to the bin site as he saw the full load and I was on my way home with the combine. He meant well, but forgot that the ll30 had the micro lock! If you choose that system I would recommend 1) the mechanical type instead of the electrical model, 2)the double type to prevent error identified with failure to release, and 3) remember that the seals are different for the truck brakes that use ordinary brake fluid instead of hydraulic oil.

Our 1105 had that micro brake lock where park was in the shifting and we moved it and fixed the park, think i dont like about that brake lock is that its only for 1 brake and it didn't hold decent with a load behind you.

Our 1130 use to get stuck in first all the time and my brother would hold the clutch in untill he put it in park and sheard the key off for park, so we would have to tear her down, take fuel take off then the plate to get in there to replace the stupid little key. First off, always let the clutch out before putting it in park. And as one of the previous guys said, your park paw is most likely bent and you have to take the tank off and get in there.

The park prawl and the actuating arm are probable causes. If either or both are stressed and "reshaped" accidently, the transmission will be locked. A small plate, perhaps five by seven inches, is hidden by the saddle fuel tank but connecting the park prawl and the park linkage. I do not recall if it is submerged in oil, as I replaced the prawl and arm when I changed the tranmission oil. I have changed this on both the ll30 and ll35. One time I removed a fuel tank and the other I squezed in behind, but I do not remember which was easiest or fastest.

When the shifter linkage is worn, rusty,or jammed with dirt and chaff you may get locked in gear or in park. Take off the right side panel or dash panel so you can see the shift rods and linkage and return them to neutral. Make sure tractor is blocked or on level and engine not running. To avoid linkage problems keep slides lubricated and clean, shift in a precise and unhurried manner, and engage park lock ONLY after tractor has come to a complete stop.

I got the gears shifting correctly now. However there is something wrong with the park gear because if you use it when there is any pressure to roll forward or backward it will lock to where you can't shift it out of park unless you use another tractor to release the pressure on the gear.
