There was a guy on the Implements forum that was asking questions about the MF 33, which in return started to make me curious - did MF make the Model 33 itself or did they buy off another competitor and repaint it red? I ask this because I've been bouncing around the different M-H/MF websites and the grain drills that I have seen look like the John Deere FB or, in the case of the 33, like a weird hybrid of JD FB-B and a Oliver. I'm asking because I want to probably get rid of my FB eventually and get a MF grain drill - and was curious about Parts Avaliablity.

The MF 33 and 43 drills were made by MF in the Verity works in Brantford, Ontario. As I am no longer a dealer in Ont I have no idea about parts availablity. Joe

Joe in Ontario - Would you be the Joe who couldn't get Massey Drills in either '71 or '72 for a customer in Jarvis because all those available had been frozen down and warped by a fork lift driver ?? Jimont

Thanks, I would have never thought that they made their own grain drill - I've only seen one before in my life and after I saw the pics of that guy's drill I got to thinking who made them.

We were trying to purchase a drill with press wheels, in the mid-sixties. That monthly MF
brochure 'Profit', used to show a model 33 MF
drill, with press wheels. Deere had not built
such a package, and the MF dealer, though a good
salesman, did not get a price quote together. IH
had the press wheel option, we bought their drill.
The boxes appeared high, on the MF 33, this did not resemble Deere. The MF Dealer didn't sell any
33 drills, the locals bought Deere,Oliver,IH, at
the time MF was offering the 33. Parts might be a
challenge to locate.
