my mf 165 has developed lower oil pressure readings lately. they range 18-20 after a few hours of hard work. but register 50-60 when cold any ideas? does this reading come off the rear main? and could a bad seal there cause the low readings? thanks ed

my mcanic told me to watch my oil preasher on my 175 D. he said if my preasher gets low on the oil gage. that my feual injector pumps front seal. could be leaking. and shooting deasle in to the oil. have you checked the oil. is it thiner then it should be. is ther more then you put in ? he also told me to use a strait 30 W oil the new oil is thener then it was years ago hope this helps

Keep a close watch on your oil pressure. If this trend continues you will probably need a new oil pump. Don't let it go too long and ruin your engine.

That's 18-20 psi at full RPM ?

Mine will drop off at idle after a spell of hard work... but will
still come up at revs...

What oil weight/type are you running ?

I'm running modern multi-vis 10W 40
Chevron Delo 400....

Sounds like things inside might be getting a little worn... Probably not time for
panic but....

I'm using straight 30 wt (diesel rated delo 400) was using the 15w-40 but it didn't make any difference. the tractor was supposed to have had a recent major before i bought it from a reputable tractor garage, they deal in a lot of used equiptment.
