I have a massey ferguson 1100,that won't raise the lift arms. one day while i was shredding I let the lift down and the shredder hit a piece of steel. when the racket started naturally I jerked back on the power lift and the lift just fell. I've had a mechanic friend who works for John Deere look at it and he can't figure it out either. the auxillary hydraulics will operate a cylinder. we checked linkages inside the inspection holes and every thing looks good. any help would be appreciated. Thanks #1 Weldor

Under the seat is a plate, remove that plate and check the lift valve. Make sure it isn't stuck and still "oscilating". the shock may have caused that valve to malfunction. I'm taking into account that brakes, brakes, steering, pto and seat all work. Also have you tried lifting the arms with the quadrant in the "draft" position, you may have a bent or broken linkage. Try turning the draft control knob behind the seat, the shock may have bent that mechanism as it is quite exposed. Pressure taken from the ports on cylinders should be 2000psi when arms lift. A service manual or I&T go through troublshooting this problem in great detail. One other note this sytem is completely different then John Deeres althouugh it may look similar.

barnrat, Thanks for your input. To the best of our ability,We did check the linkages under and in front of the seat as well as on the right hand side of the seat and below it. One question I would like to ask is. Could there be a broken valve or spool with o rings inside of the housing ,with damage? The steering ,brakes and aux hydraulics do work ,I"m not sure of the pressure output though I can get him to check it with guages if it is necessary. Also on the right hand side and below the seat. inside, there is a linkage that is shaped like a T and has a small hole in the side toward the bottom of the T. no pin of any kind was in the hole. Behind that there is another linkage with a small screw with a lock nut on it and looks to slide a little up and down. directly below that linkage, in that same hole there are two more linkages that run horizontal and kind of sandwich another linkage they have a fairly long slot on them. one acts like there is spring tension on it while the other doesn"t. Thanks #1 weldor

There is only one valve that operates the 3 point hitch. lots of different ways it can be controled but only one valve. The way it works is fluid bypasses the valve(hitch down) or fluid goes throughthe valve until hitch is at desired height then bypasses, or fluid goes to valve hitch raises and if linkage doen't stop hitch from lifting, relief valve will dump fluid. In what you are describing oil is not reaching the valve, the valve is stuck or the the valve is not being actuated(linkage). The T shaped piece your refering to controls the main valve(horizontal rod below and behind T piece). The piece with the screw and the lock nut you should be able to push down and it should move the T piece thus actating the main valve. It sounds like the pin has sheared on the T piece or the lock not piece has become bent, broken or worn. Let me know if that helps or you need more info.
