Does anyone know if a Continental 140 from a Massey will replace a F124 Continental from a VC Case?Anyone know the difference in these two engines? Thanks.

You may want to check the heads and distributors on both motors. I got a f162 out of a forklift and it used a different distributor than my f124 in my mh 20. If the are different, you may want to use your original head, distributor, and distributor driveshaft.

I have done that. The block is the same. the 140 has a larger piston, the numbers are the cubic inch displasement. The 162 will also fit . I am in the proses of changeing one now.----- Harold

The 140 has a hydraulic pump on it that my 124 doesn't.The guy said he was going to remove it.Can a plate be put over that?

Yes they will all interchange but a 124 in a 30 or 101 will be under powerd unless you just want a parade tractor and yes you can put a plate over the hole. Hope this helps, ----- --Harold

Hi.
I have a chance to buy the 140 to put in my VC Case. The governor control looks like it's in the wrong place on the 140.Can it be moved to the front side?I'm wondering if the front cover can be swapped between the two engines?Sorry for so many questions, but I want to make sure this engine will work in my case. Thanks for your time.

Hi, No problem. You will have to use the governor from the VAC, you may have to change the timeing cover if that governor wont fit but I think it will. I am moving a motor from a combine to a 101 jr and I have to change the governor from front to back and use the tractor gov. The cover that is on the back now will fit on the front. The tractor had a 162 in it and I am replaceing it with a 140. I have moved the bell housing, flywheel, and clutch over without any problems. I will have less power but it will only be a parade tractor. Let me know how you are making out. Your VAC will have loads of power.----- Harold
