Wow! That looks nothing like mine. My setup draws air from under a jet ornament on the top of the hood. From there it feeds straight down into the OB air cleaner. Thanks for the pics, though. I am on a steep learning curve. Aaron

Yep, that looks like my unit's sheetmetal, except that from the air cleaner unit, a straight stack goes up thru the nose, topped by the large particle trap, about 8 inch diam x 5 inch high, sitting about 6 inches above the nose sheetmetal. Shame I don't have a camera...

I gather then that Bill's is the UK sheetmetal pattern, while Aaron's will be the US model. Amazing they bothered to make that difference!

Bill, thanks once again
David

I saw a 65 parked by the road yesterday with the same nose/vent configuration in the picture. My nose looks like its the same as Aaron's, although it looks like it may have been modified or fabricated at some point. I feel your pain Aaron. I'm at about the same place with my 65.

Hi David, there you are... I almost called you yesterday because I have tried to get a hold of you.
Anyway, if you had the rubber duct I have on my MF 65, would you be able to do the same thing as on mine ?

Oh, it is also possible to make a rubberduct from the very very thin fabric used to put around your arm if you have a big wound, and then use silicon rubber... I am sure they have black too. My dad once repaired a radiator hose that way. Rubbed the old broken rubber hose, then a layber of silicon rubber, then the fabric he got from the pharmacy, more silicon rubber, more fabric, in many layers. When it was done and dried, the radiator hose was put back in place, system filled up with coolant, and engine started. I can not remember if the hose was replaced later.

Well, I wonder if it could be the duct for the TE 20 series or MF 35 with gas engine. They had a duct that on a small picture look the same, but it will not at all fit the MF 65. The filter on the MF 65 is offset to the right side, and the grille is in the middle and is rectangular, while the TE 20 / MF 35 duct is straight and round in both ends.

Just a thought, because the duct I mention shows up all the time on auctions online.
