I just got through draining and cleaning out the old trans/hyd fluid that was nasty in my TO-35. I replaced with the proper GL-1 I got at Napa. Level is correct but it takes forever to lift or lower anything. I had a blade (200lb) on it this morning and I was going crazy with the slow action. I'm in NC and it was about 55deg. I checked the dipstick and the fluid on the stick had little tiny bubbles in it. Is that normal ? I can't believe that after changing and cleaning it could be this bad !! Any help or suggestions would be great !! Thanks, Andy

How would air get in there ? I already ran the lift arms all the way up and down several million....well at least 25 times. Does anyone know the exact specs a lighter fluid would be ? I think the GL-1 is going to be too thick. Are there filters inside the trans or hyd housing ? Thanks, Andy

Andy, did you change your filter/s,don't forget the breathers. Sounds like you've air in the lines. Try this, run your lifts all the WAY OUT and back again. That should purge the air out. A TOP GRADE HYDRAULIC FLUID is about a 20w (i think). And don't forget about what Jerry/MT said. " ya gots ta hav ah man u all". good luck gary

It was about 55 deg when I was using it today. It was about the same temp before I changed fluid when it worked ok. I think the stuff that was in it before was thinner. I just can't believe anyone would put up with it being this slow. What would be a thinner oil that would be ok to use ? Also, if I have to rebuild the pump in order to use the GL-1 is it a real pain and very expensive ? Who sells the best repair manual ? Thanks, Andy

What kind of ambient temperatures are you operating in? If you use 90WT GL-1 and the temperatures are less than about 40F, you might experience slow lifting until the fluid warms up from use. How did the lift perform, at similar temperatures, before you changed the fluid? Some other posibilities are control linkage out of adjustment and leaks in the supply to the cylinder or a leaky lift cylinder. if you don't have a factory shop manual (not the IT manual), you really ought to have one to understand how the system woks and how to make the adjustments and repairs.
